Location

Pirlangimpi (Garden Point or Pularumpi) is on the north-west coast of Melville Island. It is approximately 125km by air from Darwin. The population is approximately 335.

Community Services and Facilities

The Community Services Division of Tiwi Islands Local Government is based in the community offices in Pirlangimpi.

The day to day management of Pirlangimpi Community is the responsibility of the Pirlangimpi Community Services Officer under the direction of the Pirlangimpi Community Management Board (PCMB). The PCMB also manages the housing in the community.

CDEP in Pirlangimpi

The Community Development Employment Program in Pirlangimpi provides employees and equipment for community maintenance, hygiene and sanitation, golf course maintenance, sport and recreation programs, workshop facilities, fire-fighting, administration, bakery work, housing maintenance, the women's centre and the men's centre.

Access to Pirlangimpi

Pirlangimpi is accessable via a 35 minute flight from Darwin. Air Ngukurr or Tiwi Travel fly twice daily to and from Pirlangimpi (once on Sunday).
