Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board

Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board

The Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board (TITEB) was established in 1999 to manage all Employment and Vocational Education and Training activities on the Tiwi Islands. The TITEB is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), under the Australian Quality Training Framework. The TITEB is also a Group Training Company operating a Group apprenticeship Scheme. The TITEB works closely with the Tiwi Islands Local Government, the Tiwi Health Board and all employers on the Islands to identify opportunities for sustainable employment for Tiwi people. Where possible, training is provided via the national New Apprenticeship System.

The TITEB is managed by a Tiwi Board of Directors comprising Andrew Tipungwuti(Chair), Cyril James Tipungwuti, Maurice Rioli and Cyril Kalippa. Norm Buchan is Secretary of the Board and CEO. The TITEB employs an Office Manager, Manager Group Apprenticeship Scheme, School Industry Liaison Officer and Literacy/Numeracy Tutors
